Telit Cinterion’s new FE990D and FN990D integrate Qualcomm X85/82 5G Modem-RF, 5G Advanced solution, leveraging AI to enhance traffic prioritization, optimize energy efficiency, reduce latency, and improve location accuracy. Both product series support NB-IoT NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) for seamless satellite communication and align with 3GPP Release 18 for future-ready connectivity.

Telit Cinterion, a global leader in end-to-end IoT solutions, unveils the FE990D and FN990D, the industry’s first AI-powered 5G modules and data cards featuring the cutting-edge Qualcomm® X85/X82 5G Modem-RF.

The FE990D series comes in an LGA module, while the FN990D series is available in an M.2 form factor.

The FE990D and FN990D are both powered by the Qualcomm X85/82 5G Modem-RF, which features the Qualcomm® AI Stack and offers easy access to AI models via the Qualcomm® AI Hub. With Qualcomm AI Hub, customers can convert trained models, such as those from PyTorch and ONNX, to inference on the device. They can also profile these models on the device to obtain detailed metrics and verify numerical correctness by running on-device inference.

Built for next-generation connectivity, both the FE990D and FN990D support 3GPP Release 18, ensuring superior performance, reliability, and longevity across enterprise and industrial applications. Key use cases include:

  • Fixed Wireless Access (FWA): High-speed broadband for indoor and outdoor environments
  • Enterprise & industrial networking: Reliable connectivity for routers and gateways
  • Professional video broadcasting & surveillance: Seamless 4K/8K streaming
  • Customizable connectivity: Optimized with NExT™ data plans for tailored solutions
  • NB-IoT NTN: Satellite-based communication for remote and underserved areas

“The launch of the FE990D and FN990D by Telit Cinterion represents a significant milestone in our long-standing and robust collaboration in which we’ve worked together to revolutionize 5G and IoT solutions,” said Gautam Sheoran, VP & GM, Wireless Broadband & Communications, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

“We are proud that the Qualcomm X82 and X85 5G Modem-RF solutions for 5G Advanced are the driving force behind these AI-powered 5G Advanced modules and data cards, enabling high speeds, low latency, high reliability, network elasticity, security, and scalability to enhance the user experience.”

“For over two decades, Qualcomm Technologies and Telit Cinterion collaborated to bring groundbreaking technologies to market,” said Marco Contento, VP of Product Management, Mobile Broadband, Telit Cinterion.

“With the FE990D and FN990D, we continue that legacy by delivering AI-powered, NB-IoT NTN-enabled, and Release 18-ready solutions that maximize performance, reliability, and long-term viability for OEMs, system integrators, and their customers.”
