Soracom IoT Platform Achieves SOC 2 Type 2 Compliance for Security, Availability, and Confidentiality

Soracom, Inc., today announced that it has successfully achieved System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 compliance, reinforcing its commitment as an IoT technology leader with the highest standards of security, availability, and confidentiality for customers operating at global scale.

SOC 2 Type 2 is an auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that evaluates how companies manage customer data based on five “trust service principles”: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Achieving Type 2 compliance confirms that Soracom’s systems and controls have not only been designed to meet rigorous trust criteria, but have also been tested over time to verify their effective operation.

“Security and reliability are critical for customers deploying connected experiences and IoT services across borders and industries,” said Kenta Yasukawa, Co-founder and CTO of Soracom.

“Achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance reflects our long-term investment in operational excellence and our unwavering focus on earning customer trust.”

This milestone builds on Soracom’s previous attainment of SOC 2 Type 1 compliance for its IoT platform after an evaluation of its security controls and reflects ongoing dedication to protecting customer data across all stages of development and deployment. It also provides assurance to customers in regulated or security-sensitive industries that Soracom’s platform meets widely recognized standards for secure infrastructure, cloud interoperability, and IoT-specific resilience.

The SOC 2 Type 2 report was issued by an independent third-party auditor following a months-long review of Soracom’s internal controls, procedures, and systems. Qualified customers, partners, and prospects can request a copy of the full report directly from Soracom.
