Reece James’ net worth in 2025: how much is the England star earning?

by March 25, 2025
by March 25, 2025

Reece James made his first England start in over two years on 24 March 2025 and did so in style—scoring a stunning free-kick to set up a 3-0 win over Latvia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Chelsea captain’s performance marked a milestone in his return to full fitness, after years of setbacks.

This appearance, his first national team start since September 2022, came after a run of eight consecutive Premier League matchday squad appearances for Chelsea—his longest streak since 2022.

After his 38th-minute goal gave England the lead, second-half strikes from Harry Kane and Eberechi Eze secured Tuchel’s second win in as many matches.

The victory placed England in a strong position on the road to the 2026 World Cup.

What is James’ net worth?

While James has been reclaiming his position on the pitch, his financial standing has also seen a sharp rise. As of 2025, his estimated net worth stands at £8 million, according to Surprise Sports.

The majority of this fortune comes from football, with James currently on a lucrative £52 million contract at Chelsea, set to run through to 2028.

His annual salary under the deal is £13 million, which equates to about £250,000 per week, excluding bonuses.

This marks a significant step up for the right-back, who was appointed club captain in 2023.

The role, along with his renewed run of availability, has strengthened his influence within the squad and bolstered his market value.

In 2022, his peak transfer value was recorded at £50 million. Though injuries impacted his consistency in the following years, Chelsea maintained their faith in him.

His leadership role has now become central to the club’s plans under new management, while his versatility—including a midfield role under Enzo Maresca—has added to his value.

Endorsements extend income beyond football

Off the pitch, James has also become a key figure for brands. One of his biggest endorsement deals is with Nike, a global partnership that adds significant revenue to his growing portfolio.

While terms haven’t been disclosed, athletes at James’ level typically sign multi-million-pound deals for brand promotion and media appearances.

His social media presence and brand partnerships have kept him commercially active, even during periods away from the field.

James maintains a public profile, although he remains reserved about his personal life, choosing instead to focus on his performance and long-term career goals.

With a consistent run in both club and international football now underway, James’ financial and sporting trajectory appears firmly on the rise once again.
