HANetf, Europe’s leading provider of thematic exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and exchange-traded cryptos (ETCs), has announced the listing of a new blockchain ecosystem ETF.
The crypto-focused product is one of three new products the ‘white label’ UCITS ETFs issuer is bringing to the market.
The new themes include the ETC Group Digital Assets and Blockchain Equity UCITS ETF, the Procure Space UCITS ETF, and the US Global Jets UCITS ETF. The listing adds to an extensive range of other innovative offerings the regulated company already has accessible to investors across Europe.
According to a press statement shared with Invezz on Monday, the UK-registered company said the new ETFs will list on the Euronext Paris exchange on 7 March 2022.
A new blockchain ecosystem ETF
HANetf’s new crypto ETF product will trade under the ticker KOIN and targets investors interested in exposure to cryptocurrency and the blockchain space.
According to Bradley Duke, the CEO of ETC Group the KOIN blockchain ETF offers a “pure play exposure to the blockchain and digital assets sector,” The ETF’s portfolio will, therefore, feature companies whose business operations primarily revolve around blockchain technology.
These include firms invested in crypto mining, trading and exchange services. However, the investment will not offer direct exposure to Bitcoin.
In June 2020, HANetf and ETC Group partnered to launch the Bitcoin Exchange Traded Crypto (BTCE). It is a centrally-cleared, 100% physically backed exchange-traded crypto product (ETC).
BTCE trades on the Deutsche Börse’s XETRA.
YODA and JETS
Procure Space and US Global Jets, which will trade under the ticker symbols YODA and JETS respectively are also new ETF offerings in the European market.
YODA is the first pure-play ETF for the space economy and targets investors interested in opportunities in companies dealing with space hardware and satellites operators. The portfolio will also include the burgeoning space tourism and hospitality space.
JETS, on the other hand, will offer exposure to major airline companies and operators from across the globe. According to HNAetf, a fund similar to JETS is listed in New York, with $3 billion in AUM.
Europe is an important ETF market
Hector McNeil, the co-CEO and co-Founder of HANetf said that listing the new products in France offers an opportunity for the firm to reach “a large and important ETF market.”
He added that investors can now benefit from the existing investment opportunities in the travel, space and blockchain industries.
“These are innovative new themes for Europe and part of our roster of Europe’s most extensive ETF range,” McNeil noted.
HANetf is an issuer of investment funds that fall under the Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) regulation. The UCITS ETFs are thus investment funds offered across the European Union and which allows a provider to register in one member country but be able to offer across other member states.
It has products listed on several other stock exchanges, including the London Stock Exchange, Swiss’ Six, and Borsa Italiana. As of 4 March 2022, HANetf had a product AUM of over $1.98 trillion.
